OUR HISTORY

Our Social Day Centre was originally established over 35 years ago to offer older members of the Bradford Polish Community, who settled in the UK after World War II, a place to meet and socialise. These facilities continue to be of importance to our community and are available to all other Bradford communities who are welcome to join us. We continue to evolve and improve activities, education and information for our members. If you are over the age of 55 then the centre has something for you. Some members join us on both Wednesday and Friday sessions, but you can come to attend either.

Our members say:

  • I like the homely, family atmosphere.
  • I like the companionship and it is a day out!
  • The activities are good for me and I always feel better after my visit to the centre.
  • It is a chance to dress up and go out for the day.

Our cook says:

  • It is a little work but more of a pleasure to be here in this community.

Our volunteers say:

  • I love helping and chatting. Chatting is really the main reason people attend.
  • I hope that when I am elderly, I hope this is still open so that I can attend.
